APYE Alumni Luyang Zhou Won Miss CFL title!

APYE beloved Alumni Luyang Zhou won Miss CFL competition (College of Foreign Languages) held at Nankai University - one of the top 6 universities in China, and is the university of the first premier of China, Mr. Enlai ZHOU.

The competition welcomed the participation of all female undergraduate students from the second to the fourth year and all female postgraduate students from CFL, Nankai University. This scholarship has Evaluation standards based on: foreign language skills; humanistic quality; international outlook; Chinese context; and Characteristics of Nankai.

Luyang went through the Evaluation process of 3 rounds:

  • Preliminary Round: Including Written examination in writing and news comments in both English and Chinese about the history of the university and CFL, encyclopedic knowledge, reading comprehension, as well as an interview.

  • Semi-Final: Personal statement, English speech delivery, foreign language to Chinese interpretation, in which Luyang chose a German-Chinese interpreting challenge.

  • Grand Final: Talent show and Quiz show against other finalists.

Luyang excellently ranked 1st in both preliminary and semi-final Rounds, and continuously won the champion title at last.

Luyang also shared about her experience with APYE during the competition: "I shared my experience in APYE with the judges and audiences in my personal statement and my English speech, and I believe that APYE experience was the highlight of my speech. It was also a great experience to recall the memory in APYE when writing the script. It’s my great honor to be introduced as an alumni of APYE!"
