APYE Alumni in Bhutan - Dorji Wangchuk, on his quest to protect the environment
Dorji Wangchuk - Alumni of APYE July 2017, is an undergraduate student in Samtse College of Education , one of the applauded universities in Bhutan. For last three years, he has been extensively working on interventions for environmental issues.
Dorji then has started a community based organization called Clean Samtse. This project closely works with schools, to train them on how to make wealth out of waste. With a wide range of affiliations from school-going children, to policy makers, Clean Samtse is able to bring a great deal of impact in the community where they live in.
The project was recognized with number of accolades, with some of the notable ones are: Hanyang Change Maker Scholarship, Runners up in Global Student Entrepreneurship Award Bhutan, as well as recent representation in Asia Pacific Youth Exchange Thailand.

Dorji is now fundraising for preproduction of an Environmental Advocacy Film. This movie will show how an individual can make a difference and save the planet. The dream movie project of Dorji is planned to be premiered in whole of Asia and few non-Asian countries, to spread positive impacts. All donations will be used in equipment and post production of the movie.
Dorji shared his enthusiasm with this heart-felt quote: "I know that both donor and recipients are on opposite side of the Globe, However, the implementation is going to take place on the same Planet. I am optimistic that I get lots of help from across the world and create a huge impact. Thank you."
